Cranberry sauce is a classic Thanksgiving dish. It’s a mixture of cranberry juice, sugar, and vinegar. This Cranberry Sauce Recipe is easy to make, and it will be a hit on your Thanksgiving feast.
Combine the cranberries, orange juice, vinegar, cinnamon and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated
Remove from heat and stir in nutmeg if desired. Be careful not to burn yourself
Serve warm or refrigerate for up to one month.
Notes
This is a great recipe if you have fresh cranberries, but you can use frozen cranberries instead.
If your cranberry sauce is too thick, just add a little bit of orange juice to thin it out.
You can also substitute orange juice concentrate for the fresh orange juice if you don't have any oranges. You will probably need to add more water and cook the sauce for a few more minutes.
If you don't have fresh oranges, you can substitute with lemon or lime juice.
The sauce will taste a little different, but it will still be delicious!
