Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar, egg together. Add the oil, butter, ginger and mix together until it forms a dough.
Place the dough on a clean surface that you have dusted with flour and roll out the dough to 1/4" (0.5 cm) thick. Cut into circles using a knife or cookie cutter of choice and place on prepared baking sheet(s). Repeat with remaining dough if making more than one batch of cookies.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned but cookies are still soft in the middle.
Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes on baking sheet(s) before serving.
Serve with your favourite cheese spread, such as your favourite garlic bread or butter.
