2 cups of aromatic rice such as jasmine or basmati
2tablespoons of oil or butter
1 small onion, diced
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 small carrot, diced
1/2cup of frozen peas
1/2 cup of diced cooked chicken or shrimp (optional)
1/4cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup of water
1tablespoon of cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook the rice according to package instructions until it is tender and fluffy.
In a separate pan, heat the oil or butter over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and peas and cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
